Flowers Are Appearing!
On Saturday my sister and I went to visit Mom for Mother's Day (a day early, obviously)! We decided that she reeeeally needed new kitchen stuff and so we went in together to buy her new pots and pans, a big skillet, some serving spoons and some nice knives. Mom's birthday is also on the 20th, so all of that was really a Mother's Day/birthday split actually. She was so excited about all her new kitchen things and we told her the deal was that she had to throw away all the old garbage. She's had that stuff forever, some of it's as old (or older!) than us! Then we were all invited to a barbeque by some of her friends and that was quite fun! I wish I had remembered to bring my camera! I need to get used to taking it if I'm going to have this blog, I think!
I worked a lot on my sock that I showed the other day, but unfortunately I've gotten to a place in the pattern that I totally don't understand (I think it's more the directions not being clear than me not understanding) so I'm at a loss as to what I should do! I'm really tempted to rip the whole thing out and start a new one, even though I've already spent so much time on it this far. I think part of my problem is that instead of doing a simple plain sock for my first sock, I had to find one with a complicated design. What was I thinking?! Maybe I will pull it out and just make a plain one until I completely understand the mechanics of sock-making. Oh well, it won't be the first time I've ripped out a lot of work. Maybe I'll come back and try that design again later. *sigh*
In other news, I have a blooming flower on the back porch, if you can believe it! Hooray!

What I've Been Working On
Picked up the sticks again, as I had laid them down for a bit on these socks that I'm attempting to make. I got frustrated this weekend over ripping out a baby sweater pattern three times, so I decided to let that go for awhile and pick up this sock that I started.

It's maybe a little hard to tell the pattern here in this picture, but I swear it doesn't have random dropped stitches in it, the pattern is like so: Firenze the Centaur Socks
Also, if you're a knitter or crocheter and haven't joined Ravelry yet, what are you waiting for? My username on there is "hjweasley" if you'd like to be friends. :)
